| Objectives |
The objective of this R&D project is to develop basic technologies
for the production of plant-derived high value-added substances such as
raw materials, reagents, and enzymes for medical use by integrating advanced
gene introduction and expression inhibition and plant cultivation in a
currently available closed artificial environment.
These technologies are expected to strengthen competitiveness in manufacturing
such useful materials and creation of a new bio-related industry. |
 |
| Details |
For the following three objectives, i.e., developing technology for (1) producing recombinant plants that efficiently produce useful materials, (2) producing plants essential for manufacturing useful materials, and (3) establishing recombinant plant cultivation in a closed artificial environment, the project targets the following:
|
|
1.
|
Manufacturing proteins for medical use from rice seeds |
|
2.
|
High-efficiency expression using viral vectors |
|
3.
|
Technology related to strawberries producing high-conductance materials |
| 4. |
Oral vaccine materials for livestock use using recombinant potatoes |
| 5. |
Soybeans producing high-conductance materials |
| 6. |
Manufacturing vaccine components using lettuce |
| 7. |
Establishment of manufacturing and cultivation in a closed environment of high-conductance ingredients using recombinant forsythia |
| 8. |
Basic manufacturing of miraculin using recombinant tomatoes |
